Rosie Plaza's Final EP: August 11

Rosie Plaza, the beloved Bay Area indie band, is thrilled to announce their highly anticipated final EP,  "Take Your Time." This release holds significant meaning as the trio prepares to officially disband in June 2023 to pursue new personal & artistic endeavors. With four new tracks, the EP showcases their trademark blend of heartfelt lyrics and infectious melodies. While the words tell the story of isolation and connection, of feeling lost and found again through the wide range of human relationships life brings, the sound itself serves as a testament to Rosie Plaza's growth and maturity, capturing the peak musicianship and songwriting prowess of Nick, Russ, and Angel at this point in time.

Unlike their two previous projects that incorporated different eras of stylistic experimentation, “Take Your Time” was written in a more intentional, dedicated span of time and in greater collaboration with each of its members. The songs create a pleasantly nostalgic yet new, forward-feeling experience for listeners that pays homage to Rosie Plaza’s 90s to mid-aughts indie rock and 80s post-punk influences while cementing their unique musical identity.

To commemorate the occasion, Rosie Plaza hosted a one-of-a-kind tape release party & farewell show on June 3rd at the iconic Makeout Room in San Francisco, CA. The EP will be released on all digital platforms on Friday, August 11th, 2023.

Rosie Plaza would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to their dedicated fans, friends, and family who have supported them throughout their musical endeavors. They invite everyone to join them in this bittersweet celebration of music, connection, and growth.

SOUND

Bio

Based in Oakland, Ca

Rosie Plaza formed in the spring of 2015 when former college roommates, Angel Ibarra (bass) and Nick Musni (guitar/vocals) reunited in the Bay Area to complete teacher credentialing programs. After writing and searching for percussionists for over a year, they recruited drummer and sound engineer, Russ Arteaga--a former coworker and parent of one of Nick’s first students. The trio wields a highly original sound that shifts between 90s to mid-aughts indie rock and 80s post-punk. Complete with angular guitar lines, and driving bass and drums, Rosie Plaza writes songs that are at the same time poignantly sentimental and nostalgically angsty.

They released their first EP, “DIY and Die Trying” in the fall 2017. Their acclaimed debut album, “Off/On” was released digitally and on vinyl on February 1st, 2020. In June, Rosie Plaza is officially saying farewell & disbanding as members move across state and on to exciting new chapters in their personal & artistic lives. But not without first sharing their final EP—4 new fun, yet heartfelt tracks—and one last show & release party on June 3rd, 6pm at the Make-out Room SF with special guests Night School, States of Nature and Polkadot.
